Delhi - Rishikesh - Delhi

Day 01 : Delhi/Rishikesh
Morning drive to Rishikesh (224 kms / 5-6 hrs) enroute visit Haridwar

rishikesh Haridwar is considered very holy, as this is the point from where the Ganges emerges from the Himalayas to begin its slow progress across the plains. The main ghat 'Har ki Pauri' (the footsteps of God) is suppose to be the precise spot where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. Consequently the river's power to wash away sins at this spot is superlative and endorsed by a footprint of Vishnu left on a stone here.

Upon arrival, check into Glass House on the Ganges

GLASS HOUSE ON THE GANGES - Once a private garden-retreat of the Maharajas of Tehri Garhwal, it is set in a litchi orchard with a garden of tropical plants, rare birds & butterflies. Moreover, this location is considered auspicious since it is the only place where the Ganges flows towards the north.
